Copper stolen from local electric company

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR  (KAIT) – More than $20,000 in copper wiring has been stolen from Craighead Electric, according to an incident reported filed with the Craighead County Sheriff's Office.

According to a report taken by Sgt. Rusty Grigsby with the sheriff's office, an employee with Craighead Electric claimed someone had taken copper wiring from utility poles on County Road 560, County Road 531 and County Road 565 during a three day period.

The employee claimed the total cost to replace the wire is $21,920.
