JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A man was arrested in Jonesboro on Friday after police caught him trying to pay a minor for sex online.

According to Jonesboro police, a 67-year-old man was seen looking for a young girl online.

JPD began talking to the man portraying themselves as a 14-year-old girl on Thursday. Believing it was a girl, the man told police he was going to pick her up and take her back to his home in Lake City where he would pay her for sex.

He arranged a location to meet with the girl and gave a description of the car.

On Friday, police said detectives were still talking to the man. At around 8:45 p.m., they saw him arrived at Highland Drive in Jonesboro, where he was supposed to meet the young girl.

Police then arrested Jimmy Turner and took him to the Craighead County Detention Center. His phone was seized as evidence.

On Saturday morning, Jonesboro and Lake City Police executed a search warrant of Turner's home on the 800-block of Ladd Street. During the search, they found five computers from the home and kept them as evidence.

Turner was charged with a felony for Internet stalking of a child and a misdemeanor for sexual solicitation.

He had a temporary bond set at $100,000 and is set to appear in court for a probable cause hearing on May 12.
