67-year-old man charged with Internet stalking of a child

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A man was arrested in Jonesboro on Fridayafter police caught him trying to pay a minor for sex online.

According to Jonesboro police, a 67-year-old man was seen looking for a younggirl online.

JPD began talking to the man portraying themselves as a 14-year-oldgirl on Thursday. Believing it was a girl, the man told police he was going topick her up and take her back to his home in Lake City where he would pay herfor sex.

He arranged a location to meet with the girl andgave a description of the car.

On Friday, police said detectives were still talking to the man. Ataround 8:45 p.m., they saw him arrived at Highland Drive in Jonesboro, where hewas supposed to meet the young girl.

Police then arrested Jimmy Turner and took him to theCraighead County Detention Center. His phone was seized as evidence.

On Saturday morning, Jonesboroand Lake City Police executed a search warrant of Turner's home on the800-block of Ladd Street. During the search, they found five computers from thehome and kept them as evidence.

Turner was charged with a felony for Internet stalking of a childand a misdemeanor for sexual solicitation.

He had a temporary bond set at $100,000 and is set to appear incourt for a probable cause hearing on May 12.
