Steele man arrested for intentionally running over a person

STEELE, MO (KAIT)- A Steele man is arrested after deliberately running over a person.

On Saturday, Steele police were called to South First Street were a 46-year-old man told officers he had been ran over by a jeep. According to the statement given by the victim to police, Ronald Howell, 59, had purposely ran over the victim as he was walking and attempted to run over him a second time.

The victim had a severe leg injury and was transported to a hospital for medical attention.

Howell's vehicle was found by police and he was arrested. His wife was in the SUV at the time of the arrest and told officers her husband, Howell, was holding her against her will and had assaulted her.

Howell was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail and is charged with assault and felonious restraint.

He is being held without bond.
