JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Everyone knows Apple, GMC and Coca-Cola employ millions of people, but it's the hometown small business that's the backbone of local economy.
That's the message federal co-chair of the Delta Regional Authority Chris Masingill delivered to the Leadership Arkansas class Thursday in an economic conference. His message stressed the importance of entrepreneurs and small business leaders in the community.
Executive Director of the Arkansas Independent Living Council, Sha Stephens, said, "I think it's very vital and important that as a leader in our community in Arkansas, knowing what the delta has to offer and what we can bring to the area and Mr. Masingill talked about those things, how you can be a catalyst."
Jon Vestal said, "I really appreciate what they think about workforce development and furthering the educational attainment level in the state of Arkansas."
