Residents cast their votes early for primary races

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Craighead county residents were at the polls on Monday to cast their votes in time for the primaries.

Craighead County Clerk Kade Holliday said early voting ends Monday night. Holliday said the number of voters that came in on the final day for early voting vastly grew from previous days.

"So far, our numbers are up today, which they typically are on the last day of early vote, but things are going very smoothly so far," said Holliday.

Polls in Craighead County will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

More than 82,000 people voted early in Arkansas.

When the polls finally close and all the numbers are in we'll have them for you on air and online here on www.kait8.com.
