POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) – Police in southeast Missouri have charged a Paragould man with murder in the death of 28-year-old Tiffani Leigh Noles, according to a news release.
Jeremy Winkle was arrested on County Road 544 in Craighead County, according to a release from the Poplar Bluff Police Department. Winkle is accused of killing Noles by strangulation.
A second man, Kyle "Brandon" Hollis was taken into custody in Cardwell, Missouri on warrant for failure to appear, but investigators said they do not have reason to believe he was involved in the murder.
According to Poplar Bluff police, Noles was from Paragould, Arkansas.
An autopsy performed on Tuesday showed Noles was strangled to death, according to Poplar Bluff police.
Poplar Bluff Deputy Police Chief Jeff Rolland said officers were called to an apartment at 401 S. Broadway in Poplar Bluff Monday around 9:30 p.m. in reference to a death. Officers were directed to the apartment where Noles was found. Police say she was the "victim of an apparent homicide."
An 18 hour man hunt for murder suspect Jeremy Winkle ended north of Monette on Tuesday,
shortly after officers in Butler County learned that Winkle may have been hiding in Craighead County.
"We arrived at the residence and we were able to make contact with the suspect by phone," said Craighead County Deputy Justin Rolland. "Missouri authorities provided us with a phone number so we were able to make contact with him, and he was willing to surrender."
