JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro is one of five cities to receive thousands in grant money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
In a news release Thursday, HUD announced a housing counseling grant of $12,359 will be awarded to the Jonesboro Urban Renewal and Housing Authority, Housing and Community Development Organization.
The grant will be used to assist residents in finding a home, becoming a homeowner or to help keep their home, according to HUD.
The other cities mentioned in the release are Fort Smith, Harrison, Little Rock and Russellville. The grants total over $91,000.
