2 arrested in Region 8 theft investigation

RANDOPLH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Deputies made several arrests in Randolph and Lawrence counties on Thursday after a theft investigation.

According to Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble, his department was investigating thefts in the Engleberg community.

As a result of that investigation, deputies arrested Timothy Ray, 50, in Hoxie and Ricky Turner, 42, in Pocahontas.

Both Ray and Turner went before Judge John Throesch. Ray had his cash bond set at $25,000. Turner had his cash bond set $10,000.

Ray was charged with a felony for theft of property, possession of firearms by certain persons, and breaking and entering. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for criminal mischief and theft of property.

Turner was charged with a felony for theft of property, furnishing a handgun to a convicted felon. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for criminal mischief.

Arkansas State Police and the Lawrence County helped in the investigation.

Sheriff Tribble said deputies are looking for a third suspect, and a stolen 1979 CJ5 Red Jeep, with a soft top, an eagle painted on the hood, and new BF Goodrich mud tires.
