JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) - Arkansas State's 2014 football campaign will mark its centennial season on the gridiron, and the A-State Athletics Department has officially launched the microsite AStateFootball100.com in honor of the program reaching the milestone.
Fans are welcomed to the Web site with a highlight video of the three-time defending Sun Belt Conference champions and back-to-back GoDaddy Bowl victors, but will have access to numerous features when navigating through the microsite. AStateFootball100.com features a fan zone with photos, videos and wallpapers that can be downloaded for use on computer desktops, social media and cell phones.
The site will also include a history section covering A-State's Ring of Honor, Hall of Honor, former players in the pros and much more. The athletics department will also be seeking memory submissions through the site, which will be updated with fresh features such as an All-Centennial Team, a series of posters, new videos and game programs throughout the season.
The site also provides a wealth of easy-to-access game day facts, including season ticket, parking and tailgating information. Also included is an area informing fans of the latest facility renovations to Centennial Bank Stadium.
The A-State football program's inaugural season was 1911, but the school didn't field a team during the 1918 and 1942-44 years. Blake Anderson, named the Red Wolves' 30th all-time head football coach on Dec. 19, 2013, will lead Arkansas State into its 100th season in 2014.
