Armed robberies continue in south Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Is the serial south Toledo bandit at it again?

Another carryout was robbed Tuesday night just before midnight at the Eastgate Carry Out on Eastgate Road near Glendale Avenue.

Police say two men in hoodies with hats pulled over their faces busted in with a gun. They threatened the store clerk, then took the money and fled. Not only did they get away with money in the register, but they took a deposit totaling somewhere between $12,000-$20,000.

"Whatever you want I will give it to you. But don't hurt me, don't get excited, hyper. Relax. I'm gonna give you the money," said Zouheir Merzouguri. Then Merzouguri says the suspect swore at him and snatched the money out of his hand.

No injuries were reported.

This may be the seventh robbery at a carryout in the last several weeks.

Few details are available at this point because police have an active investigation and do not want to compromise it.
