Family pet rescued in Jonesboro house fire

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A family pet was rescued in a Jonesboro house fire.

According to Battalion Chief Brett Winstead, fire crews were called to 1620 Tanglewood Dr. around 11:25 a.m. Wednesday. Winstead said the home was fully involved when crews arrived.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. However, firefighters were told a family pet was inside the home. Firefighters were able to rescue the dog and it was taken to a veterinarian.

The home sustained serious damage. Winstead said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
