CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – The mayor of Egypt found a two-year-old girl Wednesday morning as he was driving at the intersection of Highway 18 and County Road 243, according to an incident report.
According to Deputy Jamey Carter, Egypt Mayor Donald Scruggs spotted a young child walking along the side of Highway 18 shortly before 8:00 Wednesday morning. When he turned around to check on the girl, she left the roadway and walked into a ditch and tall grass.
Scruggs was able to find the girl unharmed.
Carter talked to the girl's father, who claimed he was sleeping and did not know the girl left the home.
No charges were filed in the case.
