Tyler police searching for fast-food worker suspected in shooting

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
A Wednesday night shooting at a Tyler fast-food restaurant started as a fight between two employees, according to police.

At 11:36 p.m., officers responded to a co-branded Taco Bell/ Long John Silver's restaurant at 7425 South Broadway Avenue.

Two workers, Guillermo Flores, Jr. and Joseph Gilliam, were separated after a verbal altercation that began inside. Officers said the two then moved outside, where punches were thrown, and a gun was drawn. Witnesses told officers Flores fired several rounds from a pistol toward Gilliam. The gunfire missed, hitting a side door. Shattered glass covered the ground outside a restaurant door. No one was injured by the gunfire.

Flores left the scene before officers arrived and has not yet been arrested. A warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon has been issued. Judge Kennedy set bond at $250,000.

Anyone with information on Flores' whereabouts is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at (903) 531-1000 or Crimestoppers at (903) 597-2833. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information on this case.
