JUDSONIA, AR (KAIT) – A White County man is dead after being shot while in a fight with his estranged wife and son.

According to White County Chief Deputy Phillip Miller, officers were called to Capps Road in Judsonia on Wednesday to a report that Willis Terry, 52, of Judsonia had been shot. When officers arrived they found Terry had died from a gunshot wound.

A witness told detectives Terry was shot during an assault involving his estranged wife and son. Miller said the woman did have a valid order of protection against Terry.

Terry's body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine exact cause of death.

No arrests have been made in the case, but the sheriff's department is conducting a full investigation. The findings of the investigation will be sent to prosecuting attorney's office to determine if any charges will be filed.
