BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Rebecca Ray, a producer with Access Hollywood, is among the many members of the media that are in town covering the Miss USA Pageant.

Ray who lives in Los Angeles arrived in Baton Rouge Wednesday and she's enjoying the Louisiana cuisine.

"This is my first time in Baton Rouge. I love it. It's great," Ray says.  "I've been to New Orleans several times. I'm a big fan of Louisiana. I already had the crawfish etoufee and gumbo."

She is among more than 16 media outlets covering the event, according to pageant officials.

Ray and her reporter have been going backstage to interview the contestants behind the scenes.

"They're telling us their myths, their lucky charms, and their superstitions. They're excited and confident and thrilled to be here.  We quizzed them on their state flower, bird, and motto so we got some great responses. "

She hopes to come back to Baton Rouge soon.

"I usually do a lot of movie premieres and junkets," Ray says.  "This is a very unique, exciting thing to be a part of and I hope to come back."
