BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The 2014 Miss USA was crowned Sunday night at the Baton Rouge River Center and held her first official news conference afterwards.

"I was crying. I was so happy and I had the best experience with all of them," said the former Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez who is from Las Vegas after her win."So, just to see all of their faces and how happy they are for me and just to get their hugs, it was amazing."

Baton Rouge was in the national spotlight Sunday night. More than 7,000 attended the event and many more watched it live on TV.

The pageant also included a Red Carpet event featuring celebrities and celebrity judges including Karl Malone, Sean Payton, Lance Bass, Allie LaForce, Rumer Willis, and many more.

Meanwhile, the New Miss USA is a 24-year-old who is among many things, a fourth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She said she's excited for the year ahead of her, most of all being able to go to New York for the first time ever.

Miss Louisiana Brittany Guidry was the third runner-up.
