UPDATE: Victim identified in Bladen Co. shooting

BLADENBORO, NC (WECT) -

Bladenboro Police responded to a shooting around midnight on Sunday that sent one man to the hospital and another to jail.

Police arrived at 229 Bladenboro Airport Road and found a man shot in the back with birdshot from a shotgun. The victim was transported to Bladen County Hospital where he was treated and released.

The victim of the shooting has been identified as 26-year-old Michael Wix Jr.

According to officials, Wix showed up at the home to talk to his ex-girlfriend when the shooting occurred. 

Officers arrested Reginald Dewayne Hines, 55, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Hines is in jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
