Runoff elections on Tuesday

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)—Monday was the last day of early voting for Tuesday's scheduled runoff election.

There's only one statewide election happening on Tuesday--the Republican nomination race for Attorney General between Leslie Rutledge and David Sterling.

There's also a district race on the Democratic side between Mike Cox and Ray Kidd.

Craighead County Clerk Kade Holliday says turnout so far has been fairly slow.

"Quite a bit of it is due to the weather, but also the fact that many people don't know about the runoff," said Holliday. "I mean, even though we've tried to do as much and I know that there's been a lot of people getting the word out about the runoff.  Still a lot of people don't even know ones happening."

Holliday says around 300 votes have been cast so far in Craighead County and only 14,000 state wide.

Polls will be open from 7:30 in the morning until 7:30 tomorrow night.
