KENNETT, MO  (KAIT) – Two people will appear in court on July 15th after one of the suspects made an appearance Friday morning, according to Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Steve Sokoloff.

Bruce McCormick and Courtney Stewart were arrested on charges related to the stabbing of a woman on County Road 547. McCormick appeared before a judge on Friday.

Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder said officers found the woman who had been stabbed, who then said she got into a fight with a man and woman. She claimed the pair, later identified as McCormick and Stewart, started the fight.

Both McCormick and Stewart were arrested without incident at the McDonald’s parking lot in Kennett, according to Holder.

McCormick and Stewart are charged with robbery and assault.
