Family of 6 displaced after house fire caused by lightning strike

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A family of 6 is now homeless after a fire destroyed their home on Arcadian Street in Savannah after a lightning strike hit the house at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14th.

Savannah Fire department responded to the fire, the mother in the household was at work when the fire started.

No injuries were reported but the house is a total loss and the family will be staying in a hotel for the night.

Red Cross has provided them with funds, food, and shelter until the family is able to find a stable living environment.
