Traffic delays expected in Liberty and Long counties for house moving

LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced they have 2 permitted house moving operations planned for Sunday, June 15th on State Route 38 in Liberty and Long Counties.

Two houses will be transferred from Hineville to Darsey Road in Liberty County and Doyle Durrence Lane in Long County, both intersect at State Route 38.

These slow moving operations require the majority of the width of the westbound travel lanes with escorts by local law enforcement to maximize safety.

Morning transport will start at 7:30 a.m. and last until 11 a.m.

Afternoon transport will start at 11 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.

The transport of these houses will be escorted by the Liberty and Long County Sheriff's Offices.
