Employees back to work after massive fire at Hazlehurst lumberyard

HAZLEHURST, GA (WTOC) -

A Hazlehurst wood mill is getting back up to speed after what looked like a catastrophic fire one week ago.

A warehouse and office building burned to the ground after fire broke out at Thompson Hardwoods on June 9 around 7:30 a.m. It took multiple fire departments two days to contain the blaze.

By the end of the week, the company had it's sawmill running again and workers in the destroyed areas are back to work in temporary space.

The company says they will rebuild.
