Here at Region 8, we like to shine a light on people doing good things for our community. Last week, John 3:16 ministries opened a new multi-purpose center on their campus in Charlotte, Arkansas.
John 3:16 is a well-known non-profit in Region 8 and their ministry helps men conquer drug and alcohol addictions. The new multi-purpose center is a 28,000 square foot facility and will increase the ministry's outreach.
But the thing that sticks with me is that John 3:16 helps these men for free. It costs no money to be in the program. How do they do it?
They give back to the community and raise funds to support the program in the process. Recent storms left trees down all over Region 8. John 3:16 ministries won the contract to clear downed trees at Caraway and Highland in the city of Jonesboro.
This was a vital service that helped thousands of people and earned much needed money for the ministry. So while these men work hard to make their lives better, they're also working to make our lives better.
We can all learn from their example. Working hard, giving back, supporting ourselves and taking the steps necessary to overcome the things that hold us back will make this A Better Region 8.
