ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An East Albany business owner is making changes inside her store after it became a target for smash and grab burglars overnight.

Business moved along as usual as repairs were being made to this front door of Tienda International Oasis. It's where a burglar, or burglars used this rock to break through the glass and bars early Wednesday morning, before ransacking the market.

Owner Ana Moored says she found her store on East Broad Avenue trashed as she stopped by before planning to make a trip to Atlanta.

"Here and the kitchen, there was another register there and they just threw away and break into pieces," explained Ana Moored, owner of Tienda International Oasis.

The crooks got away with very little, a bag with miscellaneous papers and just two dollars. Police found the empty bag in the 2200 block of Leonard Ave.

But that was enough to make Moored decide she needs to take new measures to protect her business.

"I'm planning to do some security cameras," said Moored. "I was thinking a long time ago and it was just delayed, but I'm going to go ahead and do it as soon as possible and also put in an alarm system."

Moored says she knows several Albany business have been targets in the area recently. So, She hopes everyone is taking the same steps to help police cut down on the crime.

"I think everybody should do the same and most of the people, I think they do, but still," Moored pointed out. "Those people are crazy. They don't respect and they don't care. They will try to do it with cameras or without cameras. The only protection, the best protection we have is God."

Meanwhile, police don't yet know who the burglar is but they are investigating.
