ATV driver killed in collision with SUV

CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man died Wednesday when his ATV collided with an SUV.

The crash happened at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 64 West and County Road 145 in Cross County.

According to the Arkansas State Police crash report, 42-year-old Michael Smith was traveling northbound on County Road 521 when he crossed the highway onto County Road 145.

Trooper Kurt Ziegenhorn stated Smith's 2013 Polaris ATV hit a 2014 Dodge Journey driven by Angela Gracey, 40, of Colt.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Mike Bachand.

Gracey and her passenger, Cayla Gracey, were taken to Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne with undisclosed injuries.
