Clinton Library Opens Today in Little Rock

NOVEMBER 18, 2004 - Posted at 7:44 a.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Presidents, international rock stars and local talent will share the limelight today when Bill Clinton's presidential library opens in Little Rock.

But the true star is Clinton, whose library collection covering his eight years in the White House is the largest of any president's.

President George W. Bush, former presidents George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and daughter Chelsea and U2's Bono and The Edge will be on hand.  About 30,000 people are expected.

Organizers spent yesterday putting the finishing touches on plans for the day, including an alternate plan in case forecasts of rain come true.  Temporary bleachers and chairs await the invited guests on the newly sodded lawn between an interstate overpass and the glass-and-steel Clinton Presidential Center.
