GRANBURY, TX (WFAA/CNN) - Heavy rains on Sunday caused flooding in parts of north Texas.

Forget the road less traveled. The only road into a neighborhood was a mini-roaring rapid, taking dirt and debris with it and forcing some neighbors to leave.

"It's more rain than we've seen down in a while," James Lasley said.

The sheriff's office said 18 people were evacuated. Salty Copeland is just happy he's not one of them.

"It was all water all the way out to the ditch there," Copeland said.

It's practically riverfront property. Thankfully, no water got in his home, and to think he just watered his lawn on Saturday.

There were pockets of flooding throughout. Viewers sent pictures even home video of rushing water terribly close to homes. Even the parking lot of this school saw more than six inches.

"But it looks like a lake now, doesn't it?" Joyce Evans said.

Swollen creeks and swollen rivers were seen throughout the area, including an incredible sight. The raging water tore through the bottom of train-tracks, leaving just the rails.
