1 killed, 3 hurt in head-on collision

EATON, AR (KAIT) – One person was killed and three others were injured in a head-on crash Saturday night.

Carey Wayne Blevins, 49, of Smithville was northbound on State Highway 25 when his 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck crossed the center line on a curve, according to Corporal Phillip Roark of the Arkansas State Police.

The truck crashed head-on with a 2005 Chrysler passenger car driven by Melissa Hudson, 33, of Lynn.

Blevins died of his injuries.

Hudson and two passengers, Allison and Bailey Hudson, were taken to hospitals in Jonesboro and Memphis with unspecified injuries.

The crash happened at 7:38 p.m. south of Eaton. According to the report, road conditions were dry and the weather was clear.

This was the 189th fatality for 2014, according to ASP.
