GUINEA (CNN) - The deadly Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa has hit unprecedented proportions, according to relief workers on the ground.

The director of Doctors Without Borders describes the situation as "out of control."

According to the World Health Organization, 350 people have died since the epidemic began in March.

The organization is planning high-level meetings on the situation next week, to discuss the deployment of additional resources and experts to the area.
