WEST PLAINS, MO (KAIT) – The trial for a southeast Missouri man accused of second degree murder was set Tuesday in Howell County Circuit Court.
According to the court clerk's office, Daniel Norton, 33, of West Plains, will appear in court for a jury trial in January, 2015. Norton is accused of killing Michael Tyler, 42, of West Plains.
According to police, officers found Tyler bleeding from the neck from a stabbing. He died at a local hospital.
Witness accounts suggested that Norton stabbed Tyler, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Norton was given a $1-million-dollar bond.
