Police: Burglars clean out hospitalized woman's home

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A woman hospitalized for several months came home to an empty house.

On Wednesday, June 25, the victim told Jonesboro police someone broke into her home in the 3900-block of Hill Drive while she was in the hospital.

According to the initial incident report, "everything from her clothing to the water heater was taken." The report stated two bedroom sets and an air conditioner unit were also stolen.

Officer Nathaniel Cole said the residence had been "heavily" rummaged and he was unable to determine if force was used to gain entry into the woman's home.

The 54-year-old victim told police she contacted a named suspect and asked him about her belongings.

The woman claimed the man admitted to selling some of her possessions, the report stated.

She also claimed another named suspect called her and said he owed her money for selling one of her bedroom sets.

The victim told police she did not give anyone permission to be in her residence nor to sell any of her belongings.

Officer Cole spoke with the property manager who lives next door. She stated she never saw anyone in the victim's home, according to the report.
