JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Jonesboro man faces rape charges after police say he assaulted a teenage girl.

The 15-year-old victim told investigators Jeremy Scott Harrell, 39, had touched her genitals and performed a sexual act.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Harrell said he went into the girl's room and got into bed with her.

He told detectives the girl "grabbed his hand" and placed it inside her clothes, the court documents stated.

Harrell also reportedly said the girl reached into his shorts and underwear.

At that point, Harrell said he got out of the bed and told the girl "this is not right."

On Wednesday, June 25, Harrell appeared before Judge Keith Blackman for a probable cause hearing.

The judge found probable cause to charge Harrell with rape. He set Harrell's bond at $5,000 and issued a no-contact order with the girl.

Harrell is currently free on bond awaiting his next court appearance on July 31.
