LITTLE ROCK, AR - A former West Memphis police officer is under federal indictment on 13 counts of child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins says Brian Turner Lawson is charged with 12 counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

The two minors involved were younger than 12 years old.

In 2003, Lawson was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a minor and sentenced to five years probation.  If convicted in the federal case, Lawson faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, a maximum of 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.

Authorities say 12 pornographic images were found on a computer taken from Lawson's home.
