PORTLAND (AFLVoodoo.com) — In a barnburner, back and forth brawl, the New Orleans VooDoo lost to the Portland Thunder 56-62 Thursday night.
VooDoo QB Adam Kennedy was responsible for 7 of the 8 VooDoo touchdowns in his third arena football game ever. Kennedy finished 18-37-2 for 202 yards and 5 passing touchdowns. Kennedy also rushed for 10 yards on 4 carries for 2 touchdowns.
Chase Deadder rejoined the VooDoo after spending most of the season inactive due to a left ankle sprain, and it was a very big return. Deadder hauled in 6 passes for 75 yards and 3 touchdowns. Deadder also ran in a fumble recovery for a 4th touchdown. In the 4th quarter Deadder looked to have re-injured his left ankle, and will be evaluated following the game.
Quorey Payne was another big target for Kennedy, hauling in 4 passes for 70 yards and 1 touchdown.
Defensively, Cameron McGlenn was stellar once again. McGlenn led the VooDoo in tackles with 6 and continued his climb to the top of the Interception leader board with 2 interceptions. McGlenn now has 10 interceptions on the season.
