JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – It is crunch time for both sides of the wet/dry issue. Supporters of the wet issue in Craighead County have 10 days and nearly 20,000 signatures standing in their way to get the issue on the November ballot.
What was once just a petition floating outside big box stores has now made its way into resident's homes.
"I got a phone call at the house," said resident Don Blackmore. "I can't get peace from this issue in my own home."
Don Blackmore is against Craighead County going wet. He said he's tired of the "aggressiveness" from the wet committee.
"Petitioners are everywhere just badgering you every single time you go to the store," he said. "As you go into the store and as you come out of the store."
However, not everyone believes petitioners have got out of hand with their campaign.
"I'm not annoyed quite yet," said resident Andrea Hart. "I think it's a good thing that they're pushing it because I think it's going to bring a lot of tax dollars to the community."
19,930 signatures are needed by July 7 for the measure to successfully make it on the November ballot.
