(CNN) - A new report to the president says the Veterans Affairs health system suffers from a "corrosive culture" that has hurt the agency's ability to provide timely care to vets.

The report comes from Rob Nabors, whom President Barack Obama sent to assess the troubled agency.

The report also finds leadership at the VA lacks the ability to run operations effectively, and doesn't communicate well with its employees or vets.

The report is the latest in a series of alarming revelations about the agency over recent months.

It does find there's a strong sentiment among vets that the VA generally provides high quality healthcare "once you get in the door," and that the current system can be fixed.

Nabors and acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson met with the president to discuss the new findings.
