JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – They’ve already pedaled thousands of miles in the name of raising money for wounded members of the military and their families, and they’re not finished yet. On the 27th day of their journey, the Ride Across USA team went through Region 8 en route to their final destination of Florida.

Seven bicyclists started the journey across America on June 4th, dipping their tires into the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, California. The tour will end on July 8th in Amelia Island, Florida.

Ride Across USA is riding through Region 8 to benefit Hope for the Warriors, a non-profit organization.

“Our cross country ride will raise money and awareness for the needs of our wounded heroes of post-9/11 military veterans who have given life and limb for the freedoms we enjoy,” said Tracy Draper, co-team captain. “We cannot let their sacrifices go unnoticed.”

Monday, the team rode 120 miles from Doniphan to Dyersburg, TN.

The team started in Doniphan Monday morning, rode through Corning, Rector, Kennett and Caruthersville. Hope for the Warriors is a national nonprofit that assists military families after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.
