Police ID body found shot, partially burned

Police have identified the body of a woman found shot multiple times and partially burned on June 30.

Construction workers in New Orleans East stumbled across the body of Alicia Green, 28, who had been partially burned and shot multiple times, police say.

Green's body was discovered in a secluded area of Michoud Boulevard near the Interstate around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Officers say that the victim appeared to have been in the shrubbery for at least a day when construction crews stumbled across the body.

Crews arriving on the scene say that the woman had been partially burned and sustained two gunshot wounds to the body. 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence.
