JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro night sky will light up on Friday night with the largest fireworks display in Freedom Fest history.

On Wednesday, workers with Premiere Pryotechnics were hard at work setting up the display. There will be over 750 cues and 1200 shells going off at Freedom Fest, all choreographed to music.

KAIT and the Jonesboro Radio Group are teaming up for the event.

"Our sponsors have given us more money which means we can buy more fireworks.  We have a brand new fireworks company.  The soundtrack this year that you can listen to on any of our radio stations is the best it's ever been.  My good friend Big Ben put that together for us like he does every year and it's phenomenal.  And then the fireworks are synchronized to go with the music." said Rick Christian, DJ at the Jonesboro Radio Group.

The event is free. It starts Friday, July 4 at 9:30 at the Southside Softball Complex in Jonesboro.

As the Independence holiday approaches, Premiere Pryotechnics does urge everyone to be careful when shooting off fireworks.

"Don't be lighting fire crackers and throwing them.  Place the stuff on the ground.  Don't be bottle rocket wars, roman candle fights and that kind of stuff.  That's dangerous and could get somebody hurt." said Bryan Fletcher, lead shooter for Premiere Pryotechnics.
