BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT)-Kaden’s Fireworks in Brookland is preparing for one of their busiest days of the year.
"It's been tremendously great this year," said owner, Misty Turner. She said sales are up nearly 60 percent compared to last year.
"With the burn ban last year people didn't get to celebrate like they wanted to," Turner said.
They were taking customers at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning and expecting a crowd throughout the day. Turner has been selling fireworks for 4 years and looks forward to the three day weekend.
"Every time it falls close to a weekend, you pick up the weekend before plus the weekend of the 4th."
Local resident, Curtis Allen stopped by the stand twice in one day hoping to stock up for the long weekend.
"They have good deals and great fireworks. This year has been great, they have been shooting them every day," Allen said.
It is illegal to shoot fireworks within the city limits of Jonesboro and Paragould.
