CAMDEN COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

Missouri Highway Patrol is confirming a drowning at Anderson Hollow Cove, commonly known as "Party Cove," in Lake of the Ozarks.

According to the report, 30-year-old Justin A Byrd from Englewood, CO,  fell off the back of a boat and drowned late Friday afternoon. The report said Byrd was submerged for about five minutes before others realized he was missing.

Authorities say the boat Byrd was on, a pontoon boat, was anchored with numerous other boats in Anderson Cove when the accident happened.

The incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m.

Missouri Highway Patrol troopers from the Missouri Water Patrol as well as members of the Osage Beach Fire Department were involved in the rescue, and ultimately, recovery operation.
