Brookland PD: Man steals purse by hitting woman with pole

BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) – The Brookland Police Department said they are looking for a man connected to an aggravated robbery.

According to Brookland police, at around 9:15 Friday night, a woman was pulling into her driveway at the 200-block of Steven Street when a man approached her, hit her with an aluminum pole, grabbed her purse, and took off running.

The man was able to get away with about $1,500.

The woman was taken to NEA Baptist Hospital with minor injuries.

Brookland police said they conducted a canine track to search for the suspect.

Brookland police said they would like to thank the Craighead County Sheriff's Department for their help in the investigation.
