TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A vacant house in south Toledo caught fire early Sunday morning. Firefighters worked quickly to stop the flames from spreading to a neighboring home.

The fire occurred around 4:30 a.m. at a home on the 700 block of South Erie Street, near the Anthony Wayne Trail.

The fire chief on the scene confirmed that the house is vacant.

Both the first and second floor of the house were fully engulfed in flames. Fire officials say the house is likely a total loss.

The cause of the fire is suspicious, according to fire investigators.

A house next door, which is also vacant, received minor damage due to the fire.

No one was injured.
