(CNN) - President Obama has accepted an invitation to meet with Governor Rick Perry about immigration while he's in Texas.
They will meet in Dallas on Wednesday, according to a letter by Obama’s senior adviser.
But the President is still not planning to visit the border.
Tuesday, the President is asking Congress for $2 billion in emergency funds to stem the immigration crisis.
A recent tide of Central Americans illegally entering the U.S. has overwhelmed the federal immigration system.
The system is already buckling under the weight of the nation's estimated 11 million undocumented migrants.
