PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

Two Paragould men were given four months of probation after they pleaded guilty to commercial burglary, according to documents filed in Greene County Circuit Court.

Garry M. Brown, 27, of Paragould and Brett Herren, 23, of Paragould were given probation by Circuit Judge Randy Philhours on Monday. Brown and Herren were ordered not to have contact with Jordan's North End store and pay more than $1,400 in court costs and fines.

According to police, Brown entered Jordan's North End on June 6, 2014, carrying a sawed off shotgun in what was reported as a robbery. Police said Brown was caught on surveillance video approaching the store clerk and putting the shotgun in his back while ordering him behind the counter. The cashier, later identified as Brett Herren, then opened the cash drawer to allow Brown to take the money.

The affidavit filed in court suggested, “when the suspect (Brown) walked in the store with a sawed off shotgun, Brett Herren can be seen laughing.”

Brown and Herren were given credit for serving 134 days in the Greene County Jail.
