LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) - Gov. Mike Beebe has appointed a lobbyist for the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce and former aide to the state commission that regulates hunting and fishing.

Beebe on Wednesday named Andrew Parker to a seven-year term on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Parker is the director of government affairs for the state Chamber of Commerce and spent three years as Beebe's liaison to the commission and 13 other agencies, boards and commissions. He's also a former attorney for the state Oil and Gas Commission.

Parker said he hoped to use his time on the panel to promote hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities to youth around the state. His term will expire July 1, 2021. He replaces Commissioner Ty Patterson of Texarkana.
