An international human rights group says on the anniversary of the deadly chemical attack outside Damascus that "justice remains elusive" for the victims and their families.
One year after the deadly chemical attack on rebel-held areas outside Damascus, the victims and their families have yet to see those behind the mass killings held responsible, a human rights group said Thursday.

(CNN) - The Japan Meteorological Agency said a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit early Saturday on the Pacific coast of Tohoku, a region of northern Japan.

A tsunami warning that JMA had initially issued was canceled in its aftermath.

The U.S. Geological Survey later downgraded the earthquake to 6.5 magnitude. It occurred seven miles deep off Honshu Island, 284 miles east-northeast of Tokyo.

A 9.0 magnitude earthquake that hit in early March 2011 was the largest ever to hit Japan and fourth-largest on record. It produced 30-foot waves in a tsunami that devastated areas of the country and caused a nuclear crisis at a power plant in northern Honshu.
