Driver sent to hospital after hitting tree

 PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - One person was sent to the hospital late Sunday night after hitting a tree.

According to Paragould police, one person was taken to a hospital after hitting the tree around 9:30 p.m. on Pruetts Chapel Road and Spring Grove Road.

The person was trapped inside the vehicle, but the Greene County Rescue Squad got the person out quickly. They were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not released the name of the person who was injured. The officer who worked the accident tells Region 8 News the cause was most likely due to distracted driving.

No one else was injured in the crash.
