Jonesboro man pushing for Purple Heart parking

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- A Jonesboro man is pushing to get Purple Heart parking signs installed at stores across the state.

Robert Martin, who is a Purple Heart recipient, said he started approaching businesses two months ago about these signs. He said it's important these veterans are recognized for their sacrifice.

"Thank you and here's a spot designated just for you, is just amazing," he said.

Martin served two tours in Iraq and said he knows a lot of people who were wounded in combat. Parking signs have been installed at the Mall at Turtle Creek and Major Bills.

"I'm looking any business mom and pop shop, small business, corporate owned anything," Martin told Region 8 News. "Churches, schools, colleges, medical, anybody that wants a purple heart parking space."

If you are interested in installing a Purple Heart Parking sign at your business, you can contact Robert Martin at robert.martin@smail.astate.edu.
